A little guy with a big message about resilience and determination. His story is rooted in the life of Karen Morley, our founder’s mom.

Karen was a woman who never did anything halfway. Whether it was teaching, photography, or just sharing a story, she poured her heart into it. But at 60, when she was diagnosed with ALS, life shifted. The days became slower, filled with more stillness. Yet Karen’s zest for life never faded. She found new ways to connect with the world around her, and that’s when Morley came along. This scruffy possum, a quiet visitor, began showing up on her backyard fence, which brought her unexpected comfort.

One day, Morley vanished, only to reappear—this time, inside her dryer vent with his whole possum family. Instead of being annoyed, Karen welcomed them with the same kindness she extended to everyone. They were her little backyard buddies, a reminder that life, even in hard times, has its delightful surprises. And Morley would still visit occasionally when they moved on, just to say hello.
